About Us

Hello!

We are delighted that you have taken the time to visit our website. Our faculty and staff are committed to your success. Economics is demanding but it is also very rewarding.

Our students acquire knowledge and a versatile set of skills that are highly valued in the workplace, as evidenced by the strong placements of our graduates. A unique feature of our program is the opportunity to take a large number of courses in applied economics and data analysis.

You will find strong student-faculty relationships, peer mentoring, attentive advisers, and coursework that gets you where you want to be, whether through the BA, BS, BS/MA, MA, and/or the Certificate in Applied Econometrics and Data Analysis.  Economics coursework also counts towards the BS in Actuarial Studies and the Graduate Certificate in Policy and Program Evaluation.  Click here to learn more about what distinguishes UMSL Economics

We encourage you to come by and see us.  You can visit the Economics Resource Center at 452 SSB to meet some of our current majors or drop by the main office at 408 SSB.  Our advisors are Department Chair Allison, Professors Speicher, and Kridel (contact information).
